The Church of God in Christ Jurisdiction I functions with its headquarters in Kodaikanal a beautiful hill station in the state of Tamil Nadu, South India.
Tamil Nadu is the southernmost state of India with a population of 73 million people. St. Thomas, a disciple of Jesus Christ came to India in 52 AD. He preached the gospel in the coastal villages of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. After establishing some churches he was martyred in Chennai. Indian Christianity has a long tradition and the Christian percentage in the state of Tamil Nadu is about 7%.
India is a multicultural and multi-linguistic country with more than 1600 dialects and languages. Hinduism is the predominant religion in India. The Christian percentage is only 4. There is a great opposition for evangelism in India. But by the Grace of God the Church of God in Christ enlarges its territory from the state of Tamil Nadu to the other states. The Churches in the state of Tamil Nadu were divided into two new jurisdictions (iii & v) with their headquarters in Chennai & Dindigul respectively. Jurisdiction I concentrates on the unreached cities and villages of northern part of India. COGIC has spread to 15 states of India now. We need your prayers that God will open doors in the remaining 15 states and 6 union territories of India.
COGIC India doesn’t stop its ministry within Indian territory. It has its focus on the 10/40 window countries. As India is the Centre of the 70 countries in this region, the Mission Department of the COGIC gave an assignment to the Indian COGIC to coordinate this work too. Churches were already started in Nepal, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. Efforts are on to establish COGIC mission in Indonesia, Myanmar, Bhutan and Singapore.
We would love to pray for you and keep in touch with you.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
